Frequently Asked Questions

Whole Body Cryotherapy

When is the best time to have Cryotherapy, before or after exercise?

Cryotherapy is great before any exercise session as it will sharpen both your physical and mental performance.

The blood flow and oxygenation that takes place will boost your metabolic rate. You will experience a adrenaline and endorphin release which will have you feeling like you are firing on all cylinders!

Post any athletic activity Cryotherapy will speed up recovery through muscle healing, cell renewal and reduce inflammation and pain.

How long does one session take?

One session in the Cryo chamber lasts up to 3 minutes. You can shorten the session if you wish, but it will never over exceed 3 minutes.

How often shall I visit?

During your first visit, the Renati team will help put together an effective programme for you catered to your needs and the results you are looking to achieve.

On average 2/3 times a week would be adequate for someone who regularly trains or in a rehab process

Can I book an appointment with a partner or a group?

Yes of course you can. Any bookings for more than 1 person. Please give us a call on 01908 686808 and we can arrange this for you.

Is whole body cryotherapy the same as an ice bath?

Ice baths can last up to 20 minutes, they are extremely painful and damaging to skin, and can often have the opposite effect as the ice can freeze tissue causing stiffness.

A Cryotherapy session lasts no longer than 3 minutes, is not painful, and does not freeze tissue but instead reduces the inflammation.

What should I do before coming for a Cryotherapy session?

On the day of your Appointment please make sure that you do not apply and moisturiser or lotion on your body. This is to ensure that your skin is as dry as it can be, to avoid any discomfort or irritation.

Have a normal shower in the morning and dry of thoroughly even your hair.

What shall I wear to my session?

Dry socks, slippers/sliders, gloves and your briefs/shorts. undergarments or bathing suit. No underwired bras.

We ask during covid if you can bring your own gown and gloves to reduce the risk of infection, however if you can't we will provide clean gowns and gloves.

Don’t worry we will make sure you have the proper attire before we start your session.

Due to Covid-19 regulations, we prefer customers bring their own dressing gown.

Can I wear metal, piercings or jewellery?

No, all objects must be removed including watches, rings, bracelets etc.

Do you feel claustrophobic in the chamber?

When you enter the chamber, you stand on a platform that we raise until your head is above the rim of the chamber. You are never locked in the cabin, the door can be opened any time during your treatment, just by pushing the door open. A Renati team member is with you during your session – so if you wanted to end the session sooner than the 3 minutes you can.

Age Restrictions

The minimum age for treatments is 16 years however parental attendance will be required for those under the age of 18.

Cryotherapy during pregnancy?

Unfortunately, you cannot do Cryotherapy during pregnancy.

Can you do cryotherapy if you have metal implants?

Yes, absolutely. Having implant(s) inside your body (for example metal plate in your arm or breast augmentations) is not a problem for those looking to do cryo.

Can I share appointments to a friends or family?

No, appointments and packages/memberships are non transferable.
